Bob Blackman has been Conservative MP for Harrow East since 2010 and has served as Chairman of the 1922 Committee since 2024, having previously been its secretary, as well as Chair of the Backbench Business Committee.

Before entering Parliament, he worked for BT and Unisys, and had a long career in London local government, including as Leader of Brent Council and a member of the London Assembly.
