Julie Minns is the Labour MP for Carlisle, elected in 2024 after defeating Conservative MP John Stevenson. She has a background in communications and public affairs, including roles at UK Power Networks and with charities such as the NSPCC and Scope, and previously served as a Lambeth councillor. 

Born and raised in Carlisle, she was the first in her family to attend university and has also worked as a parliamentary adviser and campaigner.
