Sir John Randall served as Conservative MP for Uxbridge from 1997 to 2015 before being appointed to the House of Lords in 2018.
A long-serving Deputy Chief Whip and later Prime Minister Theresa May's environmental adviser, he has combined his political career with running his family's retail business in Uxbridge and has been active in local community organisations.
Born in 1955, he studied East European language and literature at the University of London and has a longstanding interest in environmental conservation, local history and ornithology.
