Anne McIntosh, Baroness McIntosh of Pickering, served as a Conservative MP for Vale of York (1997–2010) and Thirsk and Malton (2010–2015), before being appointed to the House of Lords in 2015. 

A lawyer by training, she was also a Member of the European Parliament (1989–1999) and chaired the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee from 2010 to 2015.
